The People Coordinator is an integral part of the Hearst People team, and the go-to contact for managers and employees who need generalist support and advice.
Responsibilities
- To act as an advisor and coach for line managers, flexing their approach to suit the challenges of the business.
- Be a culture champion! Continuously ideate ways to improve and drive a fun, positive and inclusive culture.
- Manage the flexible working request process, assisting managers to provide outcomes and knowing when to escalate to the People Partners or Director of People and Culture
- Manage the maternity process.
- Manage performance improvement initiatives and low-level employee relations issues, escalating when needed.
- Be a passionate advocate for Learning and Development! Support the L&D lead on organisation, promotion and facilitation/delivery of training.
- Drive Diversity and Belonging projects and the Employee Resource Groups, ensuring they meet regularly and providing support with any initiatives.
- Support the Director of People and Culture on project work, policy development and culture change initiatives.
- Freelance onboarding and timesheets.
- Benefits communications and organisation.
- Manage the employee day 1 induction and onboarding process.
- Assist the People Hub with onboarding / off boarding actions as needed.
- General HR administration as required.
- Ad hoc People team tasks as appropriate / reasonable.
Qualifications
- Preferably has or is working towards a CIPD qualification
- Experience working within an HR/People function, with exposure to employee relations issues
- A self-starter who seeks out process improvement and automation
- Experience speaking to Managers and advising on low level HR matters
- Knowledge of the maternity, flexible working and performance management processes
