Job Overview
As an Inclusion and Diversity Partner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing Southern Water’s inclusion and diversity (I&D) strategy. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to create a culture where everyone feels respected, included, and able to bring their authentic selves to work. This role is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by driving initiatives that promote equality, diversity, and inclusion within our workforce and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy Development and Implementation:
- Lead the development and execution of the company’s I&D strategy in alignment with business goals.
- Work closely with senior leadership to integrate I&D into all aspects of our operations and culture.
- Monitor and report on progress against I&D goals and objectives, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Employee Engagement and Culture:
- Design and deliver initiatives that promote an inclusive culture, including workshops, training, and awareness programs.
- Support Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and other employee-led initiatives that foster diversity and inclusion.
- Partner with HR to ensure that recruitment, onboarding, and talent development processes are inclusive and equitable.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Engage with external partners, community organizations, and industry groups to stay informed of best practices and emerging trends in I&D.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including HR, Communications, and Operations, to embed I&D principles into all aspects of the employee experience.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and leaders on I&D matters, providing guidance on fostering inclusive teams.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze workforce data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities related to diversity and inclusion.
- Develop and maintain metrics to track the effectiveness of I&D initiatives and report findings to senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
- Advocacy and Awareness:
- Act as a champion for inclusion and diversity across the organization, raising awareness of I&D issues and promoting the benefits of a diverse workforce.
- Lead or contribute to the development of internal and external communications related to I&D initiatives and achievements.
- Represent Southern Water at industry events, conferences, and forums on I&D topics.
Qualifications And Experience
- Required:
- Proven experience in developing and implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies in a complex organization.
- Strong understanding of current I&D best practices, legislation, and trends.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in data analysis, with the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and drive change in a collaborative and inclusive manner.
- Preferred:
- Professional certification in diversity and inclusion (e.g., CIPD, Cornell University’s Diversity and Inclusion Certificate).
- Experience working in the utilities or similar industries.
- Familiarity with Southern Water’s operational regions and communities.
