We are recruiting for a new and exciting role within our Manchester service. As the Equality Diversity and Inclusion Lead, you will be a member of our management team and be responsible for the development, monitoring and review of our processes and practices to ensure that they are fair and inclusive for everyone.
At our Manchester service, we are dedicated to providing support for individuals who access our services. We aim to empower every individual by offering holistic support and personalised treatment to meet their unique needs. We provide a range of options, including one-to-one and group sessions, complemented by medical and clinical treatments.
Hours Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Full Time Salary £31,529.41 - £33,708.57 dependent on experience (based on full time working hours, pro rata if part time)
Contract 6 month fixed term contract
The Role
- Supporting our staff, volunteers and the people who use our service that have experienced discrimination.
- Develop programmes to improve access for people from under- served and marginalised communities.
- Research, apply and promote local EDI initiatives and share best practice.
- Raise awareness of the service and develop links with local community groups and respond to issues around access to the service.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of anti-discriminatory legislation.
- Develop and implement a robust EDI plan for the whole service that represents all aspects of the EDI strategy.
- Work with the Marketing and Partnership Lead to support the promotion of appropriate EDI events throughout the year.
About You
Education, Knowedge and Experience
- An understanding of and commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion
- Knowledge of relevant equality and diversity legislation and the practical application of it in policies, procedures, and practices
- An understanding of the needs of those that use our services
- Experience of building relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers
- Experience in project development
- Experience of delivering training/workshops and presentations
- A good knowledge of Manchester and the needs of the communities we serve
Abilities and Skills
- Think strategically and innovatively, leading, and motivating others in equality and diversity issues.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- The ability to build the trust of community groups
- Good negotiation and persuasion skills
- Demonstrate organisational skills
