About The Role
Join our dynamic Health Outreach Team and make a real difference in your community! We're looking for enthusiastic individuals to help improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities across Hounslow. As a Health Outreach Team Officer, you'll engage with residents in various settings, including our shop in the Hounslow Treaty Centre, our Health Outreach Team Van, and community events. Your role will be to understand residents' needs and guide them to appropriate services and health resources.
This is a fantastic opportunity if you enjoy interacting with people, staying active, and are passionate about health. You'll receive training to learn about the wide range of services available to Hounslow residents and collaborate with different health services to ensure everyone gets the support they need. By building trust and relationships within the community, you'll play a crucial part in helping services like Mental Health, Sexual Health and Pharmacies reach more people. Additionally, you'll work with the broader health system to adapt and respond to our community's evolving needs, recognizing the importance of addressing all aspects of health and well-being.

About The Team You’ll Be Working In
Our team is dedicated to breaking down barriers to health information and services, aiming to reduce health inequalities in Hounslow. By working directly in the community, we gain insights into residents' needs and collaborate with the health system to create effective solutions. Our team is known for being approachable and engaging, making it easier for residents to seek support and ask questions.
As a Health Outreach Officer, you'll be part of a small, close-knit team within the Public Health directorate. You'll visit different parts of the borough, attend events at schools, supermarkets, and faith groups, and engage with a variety of people. Through your work, you'll contribute to improving health services and help us collect valuable feedback from residents to drive continuous improvement. You'll learn about the wide array of services and support available and use motivational interviewing skills to advocate for the health system, providing residents with vital information and guidance.
