Jacksons Lane is seeking a new Young Heritage Producers Coordinator to join our team. As the flagship arts and cultural venue in Haringey, Jacksons Lane hosts a year-round programme encompassing the best in contemporary circus performance, arts participation activities, cultural education, and outreach work for both its community and the sector as a whole.
This role is to manage and deliver Jacksons Lane’s Young Heritage Producers project in the lead up to and during our 50th anniversary year celebrations. This role will be responsible for recruiting participants with a focus on those underserved in the heritage sector, coordinating and delivering workshops, and producing a series of public events responding to Jacksons Lane’s heritage cocreated with the participants.
This role will also be responsible for always ensuring best practice in working with young people, safeguarding within sessions, monitoring participants, and ensuring our youth programme becomes a positive influence on the communities and the young participants we work with.
Responsibilities
Supporting Young People
- To promote the Young Heritage Producers project to young people through local estates, schools, youth groups, forums, and VCS organisations to ensure the project is well attended.
- To plan and deliver exciting heritage workshops to young people on a weekly basis.
- To hire and contract relevant practitioners and other project staff and ensure sessions and activities are staffed as necessary.
- To support practitioners so that the workshops are safe and enjoyable for all.
- To recruit participants for the project working in collaboration with the wider Creative Engagement team.
- To recruit and support volunteers in the project.
- To support the young producers in devising and producing 3 public events responding to the heritage of Jacksons Lane.
- To make sure that the focus within the workshops, performance and project is on the outcomes of the project for young people.
- To champion an ethos of co-creation and collaboration with youth voice at the heart of the project.
- To follow Jacksons Lane Child Protection Policy and ensure safeguarding is at the core of all activities and training is reviewed and refreshed every year.
- To liaise with parents to promote activities, support the young people and obtain all the necessary permissions.
- To be aware of and pursue any partnerships and opportunities that are relevant to the project and to represent Jacksons Lane’s youth project in the relevant networks.
Administration and budget management
- To be responsible for the weekly administration of the project including registers, registration forms, session reports, general enquiries and any other related administration required to make the project a success.
- To be responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of the project using Upshot and working closely with the Head of Creative Engagement to write required reports for funders.
- To keep up to date databases of participants’ details (emergency contacts, details of health) that are secure (working with GDPR guidelines) and able to be used in an emergency.
- To communicate with all stakeholders for the success and smooth running of the project through email, phone, social media, and copy for website and publications.
- To assist in the creation of any risk assessments with the Head of Creative Engagement.
- To manage their budget allocation, liaising with the Head of Creative Engagement, Executive Director, and Finance Manager, to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
General
- To ensure the intentions and requirements of Jacksons Lane’s Equality and Diversity Policy are applied.

- Attend staff meetings and training sessions when required.
- Act as a representative of Jacksons Lane always.

Essential
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Basic administration skills with Microsoft suite.
- Knowledge and understanding of how to develop engaging events.
- Keen interest in developing a career within the heritage and community sector.
- Keen interest in the work of our Creative Engagement department.
Desirable
- Experience of working/volunteering with an arts or heritage venue.
- Knowledge of arts and cultural venues within Haringey.
