We have an exciting opportunity for an individual at the start of their HR career journey to work within the People Services team as a People Administrator at the Scottish Parliament.
The People Services Team sits within the People Services, Diversity and Inclusion Office and is made up of around 15 staff. The office is responsible for providing a full range of services to support managers, colleagues, MSPs in their role as employers, and their staff, in making the Parliament a great place to work. We develop people practices, encompassing diversity and inclusion throughout all areas including recruitment, health and wellbeing, onboarding and induction, learning and development, talent management, employee experience, employee relations and administration.
As a People Administrator, you’ll be accountable for carrying out and taking ownership of all people services administrative processes. You’ll be first to respond to enquiries, managing your own and shared mailboxes and escalating more serious matters in accordance with service level agreements.
You’ll carry out administrative tasks in relation to processing the full employment cycle, monitoring processes and suggesting efficiencies to enable the continual improvement of service quality as well as producing accurate documentation and changes within our HRIS, publishing and issuing letters and changes to employment terms and conditions in line with our monitoring processes.
You’ll provide support to other parts of the office and share common tasks with other administrators. You’ll use systems effectively to ensure data and records are accurate and accessible in accordance with the Parliament’s Information Governance frameworks and provide effective and efficient people services including arranging meetings, interviews, drafting agendas and taking and issuing minutes. You will be an expert in our HR systems which support our staff and recruit and onboard new starts.

Clearance Required: CTC security clearance will be processed at job offer stage.
You’ll also have the opportunity to join the Alpha Civil Service pension scheme, where we’ll offer you an employer contribution of 28.97% of your basic salary.
