Job Description
Purpose of Position
The purpose of this position is to support the implementation of DPD’s Diversity & Inclusion strategy under the direction of the Diversity & Inclusion specialist. The Diversity & Inclusion apprentice will support the day-to-day organisation of Diversity & Inclusion initiatives. This will involve supporting the existing Diversity & Inclusion Forum and ambassadors across the business to support the Diversity & Inclusion specialist to deliver projects and activities, raising awareness and working with the wider People & Talent team to provide a joined-up
approach.
Key Tasks/Areas of Responsibility
- Under the direction of the Diversity & Inclusion Specialist organise the monthly Diversity & Inclusion forums.
- Communicate information effectively to Diversity & Inclusion Ambassadors and the project team as directed by the Diversity & Inclusion Specialist.
- Coordinate the Diversity & Inclusion calendar to ensure promote awareness and celebration days, communicating with other teams and/or departments (e.g. Marketing) to ensure across function collaboration.
- Remain up to date on various Diversity & Inclusion initiatives and movements to influence best practice at DPD UK.
- Provide administrative support to the Diversity & Inclusion Specialist.
- Manage the People Inclusion inbox responding to queries where possible and escalating matters when necessary to the Diversity & Inclusion Specialist.
- Supporting the wider People & Talent function when required, looking at all projects and tasks through a Diversity & Inclusion lens.
Qualifications
What we’re looking for;
- Familiar with Google Workspace (GMail/GSheet)
- Independently motivated, with the ability to take on tasks and duties without immediate direction.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- High attention to detail to produce accurate and quality work.
- Demonstrate the core DPD DNA values of Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Hard Work and Accountability.
- You will have strong communication skills.
- You will be polite and professional at all times and have a willingness to go the ‘extra mile’ to exceed expectations.
- Ability to work as a team player and on your own initiative.
Minimum Qualifications And Experience
You will complete a Business Admin Level 3 qualification
Candidates must have achieved GCSE/Level 2 in Maths and English or be willing to complete this during the apprenticeship. Apprentices must have achieved a pass at GCSE/Level 2 in Maths and English before they can complete their final exams.
