We are delighted to be partnering with a leading global alternative investment firm to hire a Learning & Development lead to join their HR team in their London headquarters.
This is a unique opportunity, where you will be both responsible for designing and managing the entire learning curriculum of the firm, as well as collaborating closely with the wider HR team to work on career development programmes and working as an HR business partner for 1-2 departments.
This will be an incredibly varied role, however, will include elements such as developing the learning infrastructure for the firm, implementing a learning platform which fosters opportunities for in-person and remote learning, co-creating programmes with external partners, and delivering in-person training programmes. You will also be working alongside the Early Careers Programme Manager to create a comprehensive learning plan for junior talent joining the business, and provide support during their first two years on the job.
Beyond this you will be responsible for ensuring there is a continuous learning and development culture within the firm and will work on analysis projects to track how effective L&D programmes are, and ensuring the L&D strategy is adapting as needed with new initiatives. Additionally, you will participate in key firmwide committees on an ad-hoc basis, such as the Remuneration Committee, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Working Group, Environmental, Social & Governance Committee, and Branding Committees.
The HR business partner role for 1-2 departments includes developing and implementing the people strategy, understanding and supporting career development, and overseeing all HR matters for these departments. Your responsibilities will encompass leading recruitment, compensation, talent development, and employee relations for your client groups.
The ideal candidate will have:
- An excellent academic track record
- Proven experience in a similar role (ideally within a Financial Services firm or a similar fast paced environment)
- Experience designing and implementing successful L&D strategies
- Knowledge of what makes a ‘best in class’ L&D programme, with a strong understanding of market leading strategies
- Ability to utilise up-to-date learning platforms and educational technology
- Willingness to work alongside a range of stakeholders, and desire to work in a collaborative environment with both the HR function and wider firm
