Assistant (Environmental and Sustainability) – Permanent – London – Competitive Salary
A leading LNG shipping company with a global presence are recruiting for an Assistant to join the Environment and Sustainability team in London.
This role is focused on sustainability and environmental considerations within the Company, especially on sustainability issues such as planning/implementing meetings or seminars to raise employees’ awareness on sustainability.
Reporting to the Director, key duties of this role will include (but not limited to);
- Serve as a point of contact at the Company to deal with sustainability issues. The responsibilities include attending meetings/conference on sustainability topics on division’s behalf and report it back to Director.
- Assist with planning, organising and implementing seminars and internal/external meetings on issues related to sustainability, such as Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).
- Plan, organise and implement social contribution activities of the Company so it can contribute to the local community/maritime industry/maritime education.
- Conduct research on UK/EU legislation/regulatory discussion on sustainability and how those would affect the Company and prepare the reports.
- Assist in monitoring and researching regional environmental regulations in EU or in the UK that are to affect the maritime industry.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure that sustainability compliance is integrated into business decision making.
The successful individual will have a strong interest in sustainability issues that relate to maritime industry and corporations in Europe and in the UK.
You will also be analytical, proactive, be an excellent communicator and be good at networking.
