Hackney Council is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated consultation & engagement specialist to join Hackney’s consultation & engagement team.
You’ll oversee the work of officers in the team and ensure that the Council delivers high-quality and inclusive public consultations and engagement activities to give every resident a voice in decisions that affect their lives, ensuring that consultation & engagement is central to the Council’s policy making process.
You will lead on projects as directed by the Head of Insight & Engagement. You will provide best practice engagement advice and work with project leads to develop, implement and evaluate consultation & engagement strategies that effectively involve residents and relevant stakeholders.
You will develop close working relationships with relevant project officers, ensuring they are adequately briefed about the progress of relevant consultation and engagement projects. You’ll also provide consultation advice to senior officers, members, colleagues and external partners.
The successful candidate will have excellent consultation, engagement and research skills, and an ability to work independently to plan, deliver and analyse consultations to a high standard. You will also need to be comfortable managing high profile politically sensitive projects and advising senior managers and lead members. You will have confidence pioneering new and innovative consultation initiatives and utilising co-design and co-production to support engagement.
