NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
We welcome applications from suitably experienced Art Therapists to join the Infant Mental Health team in NHS Tayside.
The Infant Mental Health team is the latest service innovation in NHS Tayside focussed on the earliest years and follows the recent developments of the multidisciplinary Peri-natal Mental Health team and Maternity & Neonatal Psychology. The Lead Clinician for Infant Mental Health is a consultant clinical psychologist, and there are two clinical psychologists working in the team, undertaking both direct and indirect work with infants and carers and those who support them.
The specific tasks of this post include the facilitation and evaluation of an innovative Parent-Infant Art Therapy group and involves work with Named Persons and other professionals involved in supporting young families.
This post is based in Dundee, but some travel between different areas within Tayside may be required.
The Infant Mental Health team sits within NHS Tayside Psychological Therapies Service, which has a complement of around 160 clinical and applied staff with an additional 18 trainees. The Leadership Team comprises the Director, Deputy Director and 15 Consultants. The Service provides a friendly, supportive and stimulating environment in which to work. There are excellent links and working relationships with Dundee, Perth & Kinross and Angus Health & Social Care Partnerships and the acute services of NHS Tayside. Together, we serve a population of 416,090, with approximately 67,100 of these being children under 16, and an annual birth rate of around 3,400. The Service is hosted within Dundee Health & Social Care Partnership.
We are committed to authentic leadership and have a strong culture of inclusion. The leadership team meets regularly, making time to address operational issues and professional development and this model is mirrored in each speciality for clinical staff.
For those new to Tayside, the area is Scotland in microcosm: from the cities of Perth and Dundee to the Angus Glens, rural Perthshire, and a fantastic coastline, there really is something for everyone.
