Rate: £20–£25 per hour (depending on experience), approximately 140 hours over 7 months (c.20 hours per month, with flexibility around key delivery periods)

Working with: Cultural Diversity Associate, Marketing Lead, wider Pamodzi team
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Pamodzi Creatives is delivering a programme celebrating cultural diversity, identity, and community through schools engagement, community activity, and a flagship Black History Month event in October.
The programme brings together:
- A symposium
- Food experiences
- Youth engagement
- A fashion showcase
- Community awards
Alongside this, Pamodzi will deliver its “Who Inspires You?” schools programme, supporting young people to explore identity, aspiration, and cultural awareness.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Cultural Diversity Programme Lead will play a hands-on delivery role, coordinating activity, facilitating sessions, and supporting engagement across the programme.
Key focus areas include:
- Youth co-creation and mentorship
- Schools engagement (3–6 schools)
- Volunteer coordination
- Delivery of the “Who Inspires You?” programme
- Supporting a high-quality Black History Month event
- Capturing meaningful evaluation and impact
You will work closely with the Director and wider team to ensure activity is well-coordinated, inclusive, and impactful.
Working Pattern & Location
- Approx. 20 hours per month (flexible, with busier periods around events)
- Work will take place across:
- Portsmouth schools
- Community venues
- Event spaces
- Some remote planning and coordination
- Evening and weekend availability will be required (particularly for events and workshops)
- Sessions and schedule to be agreed in advance with the Director
SCOPE OF WORK
1. Youth Co-Creation & Mentorship (c.28 hours)
- Facilitate 6–8 structured sessions with young people
- Co-develop youth-led contributions to the October event
- Support confidence, leadership, and creative expression
- Ensure youth voice is meaningfully embedded
2. Volunteer Coordination (c.22 hours)
- Recruit and support a small volunteer group (6–8 people)
- Facilitate monthly planning meetings
- Delegate tasks (e.g. outreach, event support)
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment
3. Schools Engagement & Delivery (c.36 hours)
- Develop and deliver a targeted engagement plan
- Build relationships with 3–6 local schools
- Deliver or coordinate assemblies, workshops, and enrichment sessions
- Support pathways for student participation in the October event
4. “Who Inspires You?” Programme (c.16 hours)
- Support delivery of Pamodzi’s schools programme
- Facilitate creative sessions exploring:
- Identity and heritage
- Inspirational figures
- Storytelling and self-expression
- Collaborate with teachers and partners
5. Event Development & Delivery (c.18 hours)
- Contribute to planning the Black History Month event
- Support integration of:
- Youth-led content
- School engagement outcomes
- Volunteer contributions
- Support coordination on the day
6. Monitoring & Evaluation (c.12 hours)
- Implement a simple evaluation framework
- Collect feedback and engagement data
- Capture a youth case study
- Produce a concise final report with insights and recommendations
7. Project Coordination (c.22 hours)
- Provide updates to the Director and Board
- Coordinate across partners, schools, and volunteers
- General project administration and communication
Key Deliverables
- Youth-led contribution to October event
- Active volunteer group (6–8 participants)
- Engagement with 3–6 schools
- Delivery of “Who Inspires You?” sessions
- Documented outcomes and participant feedback
- Final evaluation report (including case study and recommendations)

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
- Experience delivering arts, cultural, or community projects with young people
- Experience facilitating groups (youth and/or volunteers)
- Experience working with schools or education settings
- Strong facilitation and communication skills
- Understanding of cultural diversity, inclusion, and representation
- Experience in evaluation and report writing
Desirable
- DBS certificate
- Experience with Arts Council or similar funded programmes
- Background in participatory arts, storytelling, or creative facilitation
- Safeguarding training
- Lived experience connected to the communities represented
