About the Department
The UK A&R (Artist & Repertoire) department is responsible for finding new talent from throughout the region and working with them to nurture and promote their careers and copyrights, connecting them to larger opportunities around the local region, and globally. Supporting our songwriters to fulfil their creative potential is at the heart of everything our dynamic and high performing A&R team works towards.
About the Role
This role is a team resource supporting several A&R managers, delivering on creative tasks, scheduling studio sessions for our songwriters as well as handling various administrative tasks for the department in general.
What You’ll Do: (job responsibilities)
- Setting up sessions ensuring all parties have correct information (date, address, start time, name of songwriters joining the session, contact mobile number).
- Diarising sessions for managers.
- Post-session follow-up, obtaining songs, and ensuring tasks are being actioned, seeking feedback on songs, requesting Stems
- Proactively connecting with songwriters and managers, keeping in touch by building and maintaining relationships.
- Providing general day-to-day support to managers with scheduling meetings, their rosters, answering publishing queries, collating songwriter splits information for registration and audio for ingestion.
- Keeping on top of the priorities for managers, meeting regularly, assisting with inbox management & taking on ad hoc tasks independently.
- Taking meeting minutes, sending out a meeting summary of key points by email to attendees.
- Setting up meeting rooms prior to manager meetings and internal A&R team meetings; checking if the room is available, booked and prepared for the upcoming meeting i.e. checking the aux/speakers are working, the screen is working etc.
- Fielding incoming queries to the A&R department to the appropriate person as and when needed, dealing with any queries where possible.
- Providing cover for the A&R department during lunch breaks and absences, alongside other support staff.
- Assisting managers on song plugging projects; understanding the roster, engaging with briefs and using knowledge of the roster to source relevant available tracks.
- Brainstorming session ideas from the roster and working closely with managers, labels and other publishers to implement schedule.
- Liaising with managers/songwriters to make sure splits are registered and songs are ingested via the A&R Admin team.
- Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the active roster.
- Maintaining the ‘Who’s Looking List’; working closely with labels, managers and internal A&R to maintain a comprehensive list of all open label artist projects and briefs for internal and external use.
- Be familiar with the songs catalogue and assist with creating song folders on behalf of each songwriter to keep on file, creating song folders in order to pitch (via Dropbox or similar) and pro-actively chasing teams to obtain songs from sessions
- Booking travel and creating accurate itineraries for managers and artists.
- New releases: collating information of release dates to feed into socials, marketing and flagging for the Sync team.
- Dealing with sync requests by directing to relevant sync team members as and when needed.
- Regularly updating Bios on behalf of songwriters
- Updating the internal system with new releases and adding showreel links.
- Adding music links for A&R artists/songwriters names.
- Assisting with the Publishing line.
- Assisting with Infringement / Sample.
- Organisation of client signings.
- Any other duties as reasonably requested.

- Solid skills in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word/Outlook and PowerPoint.
- A passion for music and the industry; must be able to demonstrate an awareness of key movements in music and an understanding of what audiences are listening to.
