This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the recruitment, onboarding, and development of future legal talent, supporting trainee solicitors, solicitor apprentices, and vacation scheme participants throughout their journey.
Working closely with the Early Careers & Development Manager and wider HR team, you will be involved in all aspects of early careers recruitment and development, from attraction and selection through to onboarding, learning programmes, and qualification processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of the firm's early careers attraction strategy across key universities and student audiences.
- Assist in the planning and execution of recruitment events, networking sessions, presentations, workshops, and careers fairs.
- Represent the firm at external events and engage with prospective candidates.
- Build and maintain relationships with universities, diversity organisations, and relevant external partners.
- Support the creation and coordination of marketing content and social media activity.
- Coordinate insight days and other candidate engagement initiatives.
- Manage recruitment administration throughout the selection process.
- Coordinate applications, interviews, assessments, and candidate communications.
- Prepare assessment centre materials and support assessment events.
- Assist with offer management and pre-employment onboarding.
- Support the delivery of annual vacation schemes and student programmes.
- Take ownership of onboarding processes, ensuring a seamless experience for new joiners.
- Coordinate background screening, right-to-work checks, and compliance requirements.
- Support visa applications and immigration processes where required.
- Manage trainee and apprentice records, databases, and tracking systems.
- Coordinate payroll documentation, grants, expenses, and law school registrations.
- Act as a key point of contact for future trainees and apprentices throughout the onboarding process.
- Support the delivery of trainee and apprentice development programmes.
- Assist with annual inductions and onboarding initiatives.
- Coordinate trainee seat rotations and appraisal processes.
- Support qualification and progression processes.
- Act as a point of contact for trainees, offering guidance and escalating any wellbeing or pastoral concerns where appropriate.
- Assist with international secondment administration and coordination.
- Coordinate work experience placements and insight opportunities.
- Support social mobility and community engagement initiatives.
- Assist with the delivery of scholarship and outreach programmes aimed at widening access to the legal profession.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, proactive, and enthusiastic, with a genuine interest in early careers recruitment and talent development.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience within HR, recruitment, early careers, graduate recruitment, or learning & development.
- Experience gained within a law firm or professional services environment is advantageous.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A professional and confident approach when dealing with stakeholders at all levels.
- An interest in employer branding, marketing, and social media.
- A positive, team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and develop.
