Grow Talent is an expert team supporting high-growth companies that are either expanding from London or entering the London market from abroad, giving clear advice, data, and connections to accelerate job creation.
We are
fanatical about London and believe that it's Londoners – from so many backgrounds and parts of the world – that make this such a unique city to live and do business.
Since the creation of the Grow Talent team in 2024, we have supported hundreds of founders, growth leaders and HO People / Talent with people strategies that enable them to successfully expand their teams in London and beyond.
We are
experts, connectors and convenors:- We work with business leaders to give them the no-cost advice and data they need, using tools such as LinkedIn Talent Insights, Ravio and Juicebox.
- We connect founders to our network of market-leading recruitment partners, professional communities and networks, Universities, Further Education colleges, and cutting-edge courses and training programmes.
- We convene groups of companies to discuss key challenges and strategize together. In recent months we have hosted sessions on hiring GTM, sourcing the best engineers, employer brand, and culture.
- Championing the value which comes from inclusive hiring is part of our core mission. We are outspoken advocates for the diversity of London’s talent market and provide guidance on how scaleups can capitalise on this: through our work with individual companies as well as through the publication of guidance, research and events.
Purpose of Role
London & Partners is seeking a passionate, resourceful and personable Senior Manager to join our Grow Talent team, supporting high-growth businesses investing in London to scale their teams effectively and access the best talent. You will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between innovative tech companies and the diverse talent pool London has to offer, shaping the future of talent acquisition in the city.
Key Tasks
- Directly help companies to access the right talent faster, easier, more efficiently. You will work with founders and leaders to understand their growth ambitions and challenges, helping them to professionalise as they grow their team. As well as guiding companies to the right sources of talent you will also support them to level up their People function across topics including employer brand, culture, recruitment best practice, compensation philosophy.
- Navigate the talent ecosystem: connect companies with the best recruitment partners and tools, professional communities and networks, the most cutting-edge courses and training programmes. You will help leaders to cut through the noise and find the best resources for their business.
- Support London businesses launching in other parts of the world, particularly North America. You will use data tools such as LinkedIn Talent Insights and Ravio to advise founders on where and how best to set up their global teams.
- Advocate for atypical talent: continuously challenge traditional recruitment practices and champion the value of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and skillsets. Contribute to the creation of content and events to level up hiring practices in the businesses you work with. Create opportunities for people from all backgrounds to find their dream job.
- Generate and track impact: across hiring outcomes, client company feedback, impact on disadvantaged Londoners, and programme efficiency. You’ll identify best practices to continuously improve the impact of your work and that of the team.
- Be an ambassador: advocate for London's unique talent market and its vibrant culture on the national and international stage.
You’ll have/bring
- An excellent communicator, able to engage credibly with founders and senior businesspeople, articulating complex ideas and strategies. An impactful presenter.
- A skilled relationship builder, able to connect and build trust with individuals across different sectors and backgrounds, as well as internally.
- A flexible and resourceful problem solver with the ability to identify creative solutions to complex talent and skills challenges. A natural listener with an inquisitive attitude, keen to understand a business’s problems and work out how to help.
- A knowledgeable advisor, with a strong understanding of the talent market here in London and internationally. You will be able to provide valuable insight to businesses from day one, understanding the needs of different organisations at different growth stages.
- Fascinated by cutting edge innovation, with knowledge of the Deep tech and Life Sciences sectors. You will be motivated to stay up to speed with the latest developments in tech and recruitment – sharing this insight with founders and the rest of the organisation.
- An adept researcher and strategist, able to quickly identify solutions where the answer is not immediately clear.
- A passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion, excited to unlock the potential of underrepresented groups.
- Data driven. Proficient in digital tools and platforms for research, communication, and project management. Keen to continuously improve and become more efficient through the use of innovative tools and AI.
- A team player who works collaboratively, excited to be part of an organisation focussed on social impact and work with colleagues to make a real difference.
The Ideal Candidate Will Demonstrate- An industry background with significant experience of operationally supporting businesses to find new talent, and develop existing employees, in relevant tech sectors.
- Knowledge of the high-growth technology sector, and in particular the challenges facing startups and scaleups, including in the Deep tech and Life Sciences sectors.
- Experience of using data and research tools to produce insight relevant to high-growth businesses.
- Experience of developing talent or facilitating hiring from underrepresented or disadvantaged backgrounds. First-hand knowledge of the barriers and issues facing these kinds of candidates
- Ability to work independently to achieve targets as well as collaboratively with other members of the team
- Experience in cross-organisation working to achieve challenging goals at pace by working with different stakeholders
- Resilience and willingness to adapt positively to feedback
- Knowledge of CRMs and creative use of productivity tools to continuously improve the impact of their work
