We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Social Value Manager to join our team, supporting the delivery of projects across the SSEN framework in the Highlands. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about creating positive social, economic, and environmental outcomes for local communities while contributing to the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects.
As part of the Social Value team, you will play a key role in developing, managing, and delivering social value initiatives that leave a lasting positive impact. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with project teams, clients, supply chain partners, and community stakeholders to ensure social value commitments are achieved and exceeded.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, management, and delivery of social value activities across SSEN framework projects.
- Develop and implement social value strategies aligned with project objectives and client requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, local communities, educational organisations, charities, community groups, and supply chain partners.
- Identify opportunities to maximise social, economic, and environmental benefits within project locations.
- Coordinate and support volunteering, employability, skills, education, and community engagement initiatives.
- Monitor, measure, and report on social value performance, outcomes, and achievements.
- Collaborate with project teams to embed social value principles throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support the collection of project data and evidence to demonstrate the delivery of social value commitments.
- Promote best practice and continuous improvement in social value delivery across projects.
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, contractual obligations, and organisational standards relating to social value.
Skills, Experience And Qualifications
- Experience delivering social value programmes within the private, public, infrastructure, construction, engineering, or VCSE (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise) sectors.
- A strong understanding of social value principles and their application within project environments.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working with local communities and developing community-focused initiatives.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of audiences.
- Experience monitoring, measuring, and reporting social value outcomes and impacts.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and reporting tools.
- Passion for delivering positive social, economic, and environmental outcomes.

We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.
Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying, and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair, and refurbishment services.
