Role Overview

The People & Culture Coordinator provides proactive coordination, administrative and office support across the People & Culture department, helping to deliver a positive employee experience and support the charity’s culture transformation.

The role supports the delivery of People & Culture initiatives including employee engagement, learning and development, wellbeing, internal communications, recognition activities and office coordination.

The successful candidate will be organised, proactive and detail-focused, ensuring activities are delivered effectively and supporting the charity to build a positive, values-led culture.

Over the last 38 years, we’ve developed kinder treatments, improved public and scientific understanding of childhood cancer and raised over £300 million. Our mission is to improve survival rates and the quality of survival in young cancer patients and to find ways to prevent cancer in the future.

Key responsibilities

People & Culture Projects

Coordinate People & Culture projects and initiatives, ensuring activities are delivered on time and actions are completed.
Maintain project plans, trackers and documentation, providing regular progress updates.
Support the implementation of new People & Culture initiatives, systems and processes.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and ways of working.

Employee Engagement and Culture

Coordinate employee engagement, wellbeing and culture initiatives that promote a positive employee experience.
Support Pulse Surveys, employee feedback activities and communications.
Coordinate employee events, recognition activities and Social Committee initiatives.
Maintain People & Culture content across internal communication platforms.

Learning and Development

Coordinate onboarding, induction and learning activities for new and existing employees.
Support the administration of learning platforms and maintain accurate training records.
Coordinate workshops, leadership development sessions and mandatory training.
Monitor training completion and support the delivery of the annual learning and development programme.

Reward, Recognition and Internal Communications

Support the delivery of reward and recognition initiatives and employee appreciation programmes.
Coordinate People & Culture communications, including newsletters, announcements and engagement campaigns.
Promote employee achievements and share positive stories across the charity.

Office Coordination and Employee Experience

Coordinate office facilities, workplace activities and day-to-day office administration.
Support hybrid working arrangements and new starter preparation.
Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to ensure a safe, welcoming and well-maintained working environment.
Support charity-wide meetings, events and office initiatives.

Administration, Reporting and Continuous Improvement

Maintain accurate People & Culture records, trackers and reports.
Provide administrative support to the Head of People & Culture and People & Culture Executive.
Maintain confidentiality when handling employee information.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and the employee experience.
Act as a positive ambassador for the People & Culture team and support wider organisational initiatives.

Experience and Skills

Essential Experience

Experience in a coordination, administration, project support or People/HR role.
Experience organising projects, events or training activities.
Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Experience handling confidential information.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and digital systems.

Skills and Knowledge

Excellent organisational and planning skills.
