Head of People & Culture
📍 Location: Notting Hill, London (full-time, office-based with some travel to sites)

We’re looking for a Head of People & Culture to join Pan-n-Ice and Rolling Minds, two fast-growing, creative brands delivering unforgettable ice cream and events experiences.
This is not your average HR role. You’ll be our culture champion and people lead — driving engagement, wellbeing, and team development across our entire business, while also taking ownership of the key HR processes that keep us running smoothly.
You’ll have the freedom and responsibility to shape how our people experience the company, from their first day to their last — supported by our senior team and legal partners for any complex HR matters.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be responsible for both culture and people operations across Pan-n-Ice & Rolling Minds, reporting directly to the founder.
Culture & Engagement
- Design and deliver a year-round culture calendar (socials, retreats, team-building, traditions).
- Organise regular team away days, events, and celebrations.
- Embed our company values into everything we do — from onboarding to promotions.
- Run fun, engaging recognition programmes (birthdays, milestones, shout-outs).
People Management & Support
- Be the first point of contact for staff wellbeing and workplace concerns.
- Support managers with performance reviews, development plans, and conflict resolution.
- Lead onboarding to make every new hire feel welcomed, prepared, and part of the family.
- Monitor and improve retention and morale through surveys and feedback loops.
Internal Comms & Structure
- Keep teams across Pan-n-Ice and Rolling Minds connected and informed.
- Document and improve policies, training, and workflows.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in all areas of the business.
HR Oversight
- Lead end-to-end recruitment in partnership with senior team members.
- Oversee contracts, policy updates, absence management, and disciplinary procedures — with support from our legal team where needed.
- Ensure compliance with UK employment law and best practice.
- Work closely with retail managers and senior leaders to maintain a high-performance, positive work environment.
About You
You’re an experienced people professional who can balance energy and creativity with professional HR expertise. You’re approachable, proactive, and comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
Essential:
- CPD-accredited HR training (CIPD Level 5 or above preferred).
- Proven experience in a People & Culture, Employee Experience, or senior HR role.
- Experience leading recruitment and managing full employee lifecycles.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Confident handling HR processes with discretion and professionalism.
- Comfortable managing staff in both retail/hospitality and office environments.
Nice to have:
- Experience in hospitality, events, or retail brands.
- Creative approach to employee engagement.
- Experience in multi-site teams and seasonal/part-time workforce management.
