Job Description:
BBC Studios is looking for a social media researcher to join its flagship BBC One daytime show, Morning Live.
You’ll be working with the social media manager and studio teams to create world-class original content for Instagram, Facebook, X and the Morning Live homepage. You’ll use items from the show and work directly with on-screen talent to create bespoke, shareable, short-form videos and posts to enhance the Morning Live brand.
You must be organised, have experience in making published social and digital content and be a competent desktop editor.
Skills needed:
- Adobe Premiere Pro editing skills
- Adobe Photoshop editing skills
- Great attention to detail
- A passion for ideas around social media and website features
- Good editorial knowledge
- Confidence in filming and photography with smartphones
- A passion for social media and an understanding of the latest trends
- Strong copywriting and caption-writing skills
- An understanding of analytics and performance insights across social platforms
- Knowledge of SEO for social content (hashtags, keywords, alt text)
- The ability to pitch ideas and identify strong social-first angles from broadcast items
- Experience of working in a fast-turnaround environment
- A basic understanding of copyright, compliance and editorial guidelines
- Awareness of community management and audience engagement behaviours
- The ability to work confidently and professionally with on-screen talent
- Knowledge of websites and website building tools
- Strong time-management skills and the ability to multitask under pressure
The role is flexible but based in Manchester, and you will be expected to be in the city centre studio at least three days a week.
