2 x Mental Health Practitioner - Liverpool Fresh CAMHS
37.5 hrs per week, permanent
The post holders will work as part of a multidisciplinary CAMHS team in Liverpool. They will work to engage children, young people and their families in the therapeutic process, supporting the assessment and implementation, under the supervision of an experienced CAMHS clinician, of complex mental health interventions for children and young people
The post holder will be expected to liaise with external agencies including health, education, social care and the voluntary sector and act as a named key worker to children, young people and families accessing Alder Hey CAMH services. Under supervision the post holder will carry out effective and evaluated assessments in line with their own knowledge base and the trust's policies and procedures.
The post holder will also be responsible for enabling effective and meaningful service user participation in the design and delivery of our services through individual and group engagement, facilitation of events/focus groups, supporting the wider CAMHS participation agenda and that of Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust.
Main Duties Of The Job
- Working as a member of an integrated multi-disciplinary team providing comprehensive assessment of children, young people and families. Planning, implementing and evaluating interventions to address identified needs.
- Acting as case manager for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems.
- Delivering evidence-based interventions in a group format alongside or under supervision of senior CAMHS practitioners.
- Monitoring risk and supporting children and young people who present with more severe problems to rapidly access assessment and intervention from senior CAMHS practitioners
- Promoting the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
- Adhering to Trust policies and procedures and the legislative framework in which children’s mental health care is delivered.
This is an exciting opportunity for two Mental Health Practitioner to join the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. The Mental Health Practitioner will be a member of the specialist, multi-disciplinary service and will be supported through supervision by a senior member of the team on a regular basis. The post holder will provide a range of appropriate, evidence based clinical interventions informed by assessed individual need.
