The Devon County FA is looking to recruit a dynamic individual to our Board. As a Director you will provide expertise and guidance to the Board and to the Executive Team.
The Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) Director will lead and support the work of Devon FA Inclusion Advisory Group to provide access to football for all communities in Devon. They will work alongside staff and fellow IAG members to check and challenge Devon FA on EDI topics or issues relevant to the current climate in grassroots football in Devon. They will work with the Senior Delivery Officer to lead on the development and delivery of Devon FA’s DIAP.
This is a volunteer role in which you will be expected to work closely with the Chair and CEO. You will need to attend regular Board and FA meetings and events to collaborate with Board Directors and other stakeholders in the strategic development of the Association. Whilst the role is voluntary, reasonable expenses will be paid. The role requires a commitment to attend around seven Board meetings a year. These are usually held on a Thursday evening at the County FA offices in Newton Abbot from 6pm. The Association accepts the need for flexibility, so while attending the meetings in person is preferable, there is the opportunity to attend remotely via Microsoft Teams.

Role purpose
- To lead and support an effective, constructive and cohesive Inclusion Advisory Group.
- To assist the IAG Members and all Devon County FA staff to plan, lead and develop a strategic vision for inclusion in football within the County.
- Work alongside Devon FA staff to understand the needs of the local population in grassroots football across Devon.
- To positively contribute to Council/Board discussions, promoting the delivery of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and to check and challenge.
- To provide advice to the executive on improving customer service standards and use of insight that help grow the game of football across the county
- To act as an ambassador for the Association
