About This Role
The UWE Bristol Wellbeing Team is part of the wider Student Access and Enabling Service, and we are seeking an enthusiastic Mental Health Practitioner with strong clinical experience to work on a part-time basis of 30 hours a week as a maternity cover position.
As a multidisciplinary team we provide Counselling and Mental Health Support to students and work closely with our internal partner services to provide effective coordination of support, and to empower our students to become ready and able graduates. We are committed to working creatively to support our students and offer a mixture of face-to-face online and telephone options.
About You
You will be an experienced Mental Health Practitioner with a minimum of two years’ experience working within a Mental Health setting.
You will have the ability to manage a busy caseload, work with a high level of risk and complexity managing high pressure and emotive situations with skill and sensitivity using your expertise and initiative to make decisions in difficult situations. Risk assessing and risk management will be essential to this role as will be the need to work collaboratively with other UWE support services and community-based services to ensure safety and continuity of support.
You will provide a solution focussed approach wherever possible and will work alongside students to co-create support plans that enable them to work through psychological difficulties utilising their inner resources.
In addition to your caseload work, we will encourage you to provide input into service development/delivery using your individual experiences to provide training and presentations to colleagues as required and to participate in university-wide projects where necessary.
Where you will be working
UWE Bristol is a campus-based University, with vibrant campus communities that are central to student life.
This role will be predominantly based at our Frenchay Campus however there may be a requirement to work at our Bower Ashton Campus in the south of the city when needed. You will be required to work Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
This role is based on campus for all your time.

This is a part-time, fixed-term post until 24/08/27, working 30 hours per week.

Salary offers are made in line with the University’s salary assessment guidelines, reflecting your relevant skills and experience in parity with colleagues.
