The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a
Health Improvement Lead to join the Health Improvement Team within Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. This senior leadership role will be responsible for the strategic development and delivery of a diverse portfolio of health improvement programmes aimed at improving population health and reducing health inequalities. Areas of focus include child and maternal health, maternal and infant nutrition, breastfeeding, oral health, mental health, suicide prevention, asset-based approaches and support for asylum seekers and refugees. Working alongside a wide range of partners, communities and stakeholders, you will influence policy, lead transformational programmes and drive sustainable improvements across Greater Glasgow and Clyde. All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

- Full-time, Permanent
- You will be based between ParkHead Hub and Pollok Health Centre
- Working Pattern: Monday - Friday
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic planning, development and delivery of health improvement programmes that improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities
- Provide expert leadership and specialist advice on public health, health improvement and population wellbeing
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with NHS services, local authorities, third sector organisations, community groups and national stakeholders
- Lead programme management across multiple workstreams ensuring effective implementation, governance, monitoring and evaluation
- Use research, evidence and health intelligence to inform policy development, service improvement and decision making
- Manage staff, budgets, commissioned services and resources to ensure effective and sustainable delivery of programmes
- Champion community engagement and capacity building to ensure local communities influence and shape health improvement activity
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- Relevant degree with specialist public health or health improvement knowledge gained through postgraduate study, equivalent experience or significant professional development
- Significant experience working within health improvement, public health, health inequalities or a closely related field
- Highly developed knowledge of public health policy, health improvement practice and the social factors that influence health and wellbeing
- Experience of leading complex programmes, projects and multi-agency partnerships to deliver measurable improvements in outcomes
- Demonstrable leadership and people management experience with the ability to motivate, influence and develop others
- Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting data, research and evidence to support strategic decision making
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work effectively across a wide range of professional and community settings
