What we’re looking for
We’re looking for passionate team players to bring joy to our customers every day. As a Test Manageryou’ll take ownership of all testing activity across key strategic business systems. This is a newly created role requiring hands-on leadership where you will define, build and embed a fit-for-purpose testing function. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring high-quality, reliable system delivery. You’ll be working closely with colleagues across Pret’s Technology team and the wider Pret business to ensure that transformation initiatives and regular releases from our SaaS providers are tested appropriately.
Key responsibilities
- Define and implement the overall test strategy, approach and standards
- Establish testing governance, processes and best practices aligned to business and IT objectives
- Own the end-to-end test lifecycle including system, integration, UAT, regression and release testing
- Lead and execute testing activities for strategic business systems, ensuring quality, risk mitigation and on-time delivery
- Create and maintain test plans, schedules, environments and entry/exit criteria
- Manage defects, risks and dependencies, providing clear reporting and recommendations to stakeholders
- Drive the growth and maturity of testing capability within the organisation
- Work closely with Programme Managers, Business Analysts, Engineers and external software vendors
- Act as the primary point of contact for all testing-related matters
- Provide clear, concise reporting on test progress, quality metrics and readiness for go-live
- Select, implement and optimise test tools where appropriate (manual and automated)
- Drive continuous improvement in test efficiency, coverage and quality outcomes
- Promote a quality-first mindset across delivery teams
Experience and Skills required
- Proven experience as a Test Manager or Senior Test Lead in complex IT environments.
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, test lifecycle management and defect management.
- Experience testing large-scale business systems (e.g. ERP, CRM, HR, Finance, or enterprise platforms).
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to operate in a newly created role and build processes from the ground up.
- Experience delivering testing within Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models.
- Exposure to test automation strategies and tools.
- Experience working with third-party vendors or system integrators.
- Relevant testing qualifications (e.g. ISTQB).

The interview journey
Every interview process at Pret begins with the same two stages. First, you’ll have a relaxed 30-minute conversation with our recruitment team so we can get to know you and your experience. Next, you’ll be invited to a one-hour, in-person interview with the hiring manager at our Support Centre in London Victoria.
Depending on the role and function, there may be additional stages. These could include time spent in one of our shops, completing a task, or meeting a senior leader.
