We are supporting a large, national organisation to appoint a Head of People Experience - a senior HR leadership role with significant influence across a 4,500-employee, multi-site business operating across 300+ locations.
Working closely with the Chief People Officer, this role sits at the centre of the organisation’s people strategy. You will help design and deliver initiatives that strengthen engagement, culture, talent and workforce capability, ensuring the organisation becomes a genuine employer of choice.
This is a strategic, high-impact role for an experienced HR leader who enjoys operating at pace, influencing senior stakeholders and turning people strategy into practical, scalable programmes.
The opportunity
You will take ownership of the end-to-end People Experience agenda, helping to shape and implement initiatives that drive both employee engagement and commercial performance.
Working closely with the CPO and executive leadership team, you will lead programmes across areas including:
• Employee engagement and experience strategy
• Talent management and succession planning
• Strategic workforce planning
• Culture, values and employer brand
• Diversity, equity & inclusion
• Wellbeing and workforce resilience
You will also lead the organisation’s Great Place to Work engagement programme, using insight and data to shape initiatives that improve retention, capability and organisational culture.
A key part of the role is connecting people strategy to business outcomes, ensuring initiatives are practical, measurable and aligned with the organisation’s commercial objectives.
Leadership responsibility
Alongside the strategic agenda, the role also leads the Employee Relations function, managing a small team and ensuring robust processes and best practice across a large operational workforce.
What we’re looking for
We’re seeking a credible and commercially minded HR leader with experience operating in large, multi-site organisations.
You will bring:

• Proven experience delivering people experience or engagement strategies that drive measurable outcomes
• Experience leading initiatives across areas such as talent, culture, workforce planning, D&I or wellbeing
• Strong understanding of Employee Relations within operational environments
• The ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate at executive level
• A pragmatic approach with the ability to translate strategy into delivery
Equally important is your mindset. The organisation is looking for someone who is:
• Resilient and comfortable operating at pace
• Energised by change and transformation
• Able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
• Motivated to make a visible impact across a large workforce
