About the role
UCL is seeking a motivated and talented Global Engagement Manager (GEM) to join our Global Engagement team. In this job you'll play a vital role within Global Engagement, ensuring GE projects and programmes are delivered to high standards. You'll work directly with external partner organisations, acting as an important regular contact point and ensuring that the relationship is managed effectively, tactfully and responsively.
You'll also provide practical assistance and insights to GE colleagues to help develop new activities, and provide first line operational advice and practical support to Faculties to facilitate their global engagement. This support could be via desk-based research, drafting of contracts and agreements, accurate record keeping, the management of meetings, events and projects, or a myriad of other ways.

This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 40% on site presence (minimum of 2 days per week).
About you
To do this job, you should have experience of working in the HE sector within a research or partnership-focussed role OR a similar position directly within the areas of research, innovation, governmental or policy. You should possess good knowledge of the geo-political environment, cultural contexts, and socio-economic trends generally.
You'll have a track record of supporting multiple complex projects simultaneously, keeping them on track independently while still working as part of a team. Your written work, interpersonal and analytical skills will be of a high standard already, but the role will allow you significant opportunities to develop these.
You will be comfortable operating in a highly international environment, working across cultures and communicating with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. Occasional international travel may be required.
