We are seeking a committed Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Officer to contribute to the delivery of the University’s EDI strategy and statutory equality duties.
Working within Human Resources and reporting to the HR Manager – Organisational Development & Equality, the postholder will play a key role in providing advice, coordinating EDI initiatives, analysing and presenting complex equality data to support statutory reporting and external submissions, supporting staff networks and EDI events, and helping the University respond effectively to changes in equality and employment legislation.
This is a varied and impactful role, combining advisory work, data analysis, project coordination, communications and relationship‑building across the institution.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Shaping an evidence‑based approach to EDI across the University
- Providing practical advice and guidance to managers on equality legislation, policy and inclusive practice
- Coordinating University Staff Networks, EDI committees and working groups
- Planning and delivering EDI initiatives, events and awareness activities, including the University’s Diversity Festival and annual diversity calendar
- Supporting external accreditations such as Athena Swan and Race Equality Charter
- Producing clear and engaging written and online communications, including reports, guidance and web content
- Designing and delivering EDI training and awareness sessions, and embedding EDI within onboarding and learning and development activities
- Building strong relationships and influencing EDI practice across Faculties and Professional Services
