Job Overview
The Domestic Abuse Prevention and Sexual Violence (DASV) Lead will provide strategic leadership for the Trust's response to the prevention, identification and management of DASV. Working in partnership with Trust safeguarding teams and external agencies, the post holder will lead the development of policy, training, service improvement initiatives and partnership working to strengthen organisational and clinical responses.
The role will ensure that learning from reviews, research and best practice is embedded across the Trust, supporting improved outcomes for children, adults at risk, patients and staff affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence.
Main duties of the job
- Provide strategic leadership for the Trust's approach to DASV prevention, working closely with Safeguarding Teams and other key stakeholders.
- Lead the development, implementation and review of the Trust's DASV strategies, policies and procedures.
- Develop guidance and support pathways for staff affected by DASV.
- Represent the Trust as the lead for DASV at local, regional and national forums, promoting effective partnership working and coordinated responses.
- Oversee the Trust's participation in Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews (DARDRs) and ensure organisational learning is embedded into practice, policy and training.
- Promote a Co-ordinated Community Response (CCR) framework to improve identification, intervention and support for DASV victims and survivors.
- Engage clinicians, managers and practitioners across the Trust to strengthen awareness, confidence and capacity in responding to DASV.
- Ensure all advice and guidance provided is underpinned by current evidence, professional standards and recognised best practice.
- Lead the development of a Lived Experience Network under the umbrella organisation SANl

- Strategic Leadership and Service Development

- Professional Leadership, Training and Supervision
- Provide expert advice, leadership and professional consultation on DASV for staff across the Trust.
- Offer specialist DASV guidance relating to safeguarding children and adults, informed by research, legislation, national guidance, serious case reviews and best practice.
- Lead the development, delivery and evaluation of a Trust-wide programme of training including the White Ribbon Campaign and other events that raise awareness.
- Provide DASV supervision, support and specialist consultation to safeguarding teams.
- Lead development of and support to the DA Champions Network.
- Quality Improvement, Performance and Governance
- Support the improvement of Trust data collection, reporting and analysis relating to domestic abuse and sexual violence.
- Use qualitative and quantitative data to identify trends, inform service improvements and support strategic decision-making.
- Develop and lead an audit programme to evaluate compliance, quality and effectiveness of domestic abuse and sexual violence practice across the Trust.
- Monitor implementation of relevant policies, standards and procedures.
- Disseminate learning from internal reviews and multi-agency review processes, ensuring recommendations are embedded in practice.
- Promote innovation, research, service evaluation and best practice development in collaboration with local, regional and national partners.
- Management and Leadership Responsibilities
- Line manage and support the development of the DASV Prevention Co-ordinator and any future members of the DASV Prevention Team.
- Lead on the planning and delivery of the DASV Annual Work Plan.
- Foster a positive learning culture that encourages reflective practice, continuous improvement and professional development.
- Support Borough Directors, Divisional Directors and senior leaders in delivering Trust priorities related to DASV prevention.
- Contribute to workforce planning and service development initiatives within DASV.
- Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver strategic objectives.
Communication and Partnership Working
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with safeguarding partnerships, local authorities, NHS organisations, criminal justice agencies and specialist voluntary sector organisations.
- Represent the Trust at relevant multi-agency meetings and forums.
- Oversee MARAC attendance by CNWL representatives, supporting them with their role and feeding back/ escalating issues as appropriate.
- Promote collaborative working to improve outcomes for individuals affected by DASV.
General Duties

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree-level qualification in a relevant health, social care, psychology, public health, safeguarding or related discipline
- Professional registration with a relevant regulatory body.
- Significant experience in domestic abuse, sexual violence, safeguarding and violence against women and girls (VAWG).
Desirable criteria
- Postgraduate qualification (Master's degree or equivalent experience) in safeguarding, public health, social work, psychology, leadership, violence prevention or a related field.
- Leadership or management qualification.
- Practice Educator, Teaching, Coaching or Training qualification.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working as a senior practitioner in a health or social care related setting.
- Experience of managing staff.sional supervision.
- Experience of leading strategic programmes across organisations.
- Experience of delivering training and professional supervision.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of research, evaluation or publication.
