KEY PURPOSE OF ROLE
One of the strategic priorities of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) is to be a welcoming and inclusive Club, and this role will be pivotal in ensuring meaningful progression in its membership reflects the diversity and vibrancy of the wider cricketing community. This new role will lead on the planning, coordination, and delivery of projects designed to broaden access to MCC membership and enhance inclusion with a particular focus on achieving greater gender balance. In addition to this membership focus, the role will also support the broader EDI agenda across the Club and its staff, ensuring that inclusive values are reflected in MCC’s culture, events, and everyday practices.
KEY TASKS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Project Management & Delivery
- Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of Membership Diversity projects, including timeline management, stakeholder engagement, and progress tracking.
- Work collaboratively with the Membership Diversity Sub-Committee to define actions, milestones, and success measures.
- Work closely with the Campaign Manager and Communications Team to develop and deliver a clear communications and engagement plan for the Membership Diversity Project, ensuring consistent messaging and visibility across all channels.
- Liaise with Legal Counsel (internal and external) to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, and to coordinate and project manage any related legal or policy developments.
- Work closely with the Cricket Department to ensure a coordinated and inclusive approach across player pathways and playing membership categories.
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring efficient and responsible use of resources.
- Prepare and present regular reports, papers, and updates for Committees and the Executive Management Board (EMB).
- Identify and manage risks, challenges, and opportunities to advance inclusion and ensure the timely delivery of outcomes.
Equity, Diversity & Inclusion
- Act as a trusted advisor to Committees, EMB, and managers on inclusion, diversity, and belonging.
- Support the ongoing evolution and implementation of MCC’s EDI Plan, ensuring alignment with the Club’s strategic priorities, values, and legal obligations.
- Lead and support events, campaigns, and storytelling initiatives that celebrate diversity and strengthen belonging within MCC.
- Provide coaching, workshops, and training to increase awareness, confidence, and capability among staff and members.
- Review existing EDI benchmarks, monitor progress, and report regularly to EMB on EDI initiatives and outcomes and make recommendations for further development.
- Ensure Club’s EDI policies comply with relevant legislation and mitigate any legal or reputational risks.
Data, Measurement & Reporting
- Collect, analyse, and interpret membership and participation data to inform strategy and measure progress.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to gender balance and broader diversity objectives across both Membership and staff.
- Produce evidence-based reports and recommendations for Committees and EMB to inform decision-making and demonstrate impact.
- Work with the Finance Business Partner to develop financial projections and execute quantitative analysis to support strategic decisions and assess new initiatives.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS – SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- Proven track record in project management, including cross-departmental coordination and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in EDI strategy, delivery, and best practice, with a working knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Strong understanding of gender equity and representation in sport, community, or membership organisations.
- Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills across varied stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data interpretation and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing for governance audiences.
Desirable
- Experience in a sports or membership organisation.
- Familiarity with the cricket ecosystem and its diversity challenges.
- Project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM, Agile).
