About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and exceptional leader to join our dynamic Safer Communities Service. In this position, you will help implement work linked to our corporate priority ‘A Safer Hounslow’ and lead on delivering the borough’s Safer Communities Strategy 2024 - 2027.
The Safer Communities Service delivers a range of functions such as essential life-saving frontline services, co-ordinating work across different disciplines, strengthening partnership collaborations, implementing innovative projects, and ensuring the Council fulfils its statutory duties to keep Hounslow safe for everyone.
The borough is embarking on its most ambitious plans to embed its locality model, focusing on prevention and renewing its enforcement efforts. The Head of Safer Communities Partnerships will play a key role in supporting the delivery of this exciting work.
This role offers a unique opportunity to showcase your skills working with senior officers across partnerships, lead on shaping the borough’s next three year Safer Communities Strategy and the Violence Against Women and Girls Plan, build on strengthening our working relationship with MOPAC and VRU and mostly importantly, work with communities to keep Hounslow a safe place to live, work, study and visit.
About The Team You’ll Be Working In
You’ll be part of the Safer Communities Service’s management team based in the Communities Division, working closely with internal departments and external partners including the Police.
The core objectives of this multidisciplinary service are to ensure both the Council and the Hounslow Community Safety Partnership Board meet their statutory obligations and deliver strategic priorities, while working directly with local communities and victims of crime, including those affected by domestic abuse and Violence Against Women and Girls.
The service is focused on achieving improved outcomes for all communities impacted by crime and anti-social behaviour by keeping crime levels low and improving feelings of safety.
You’ll work alongside the Head of Safer Communities Operational team supporting Members, Chief Officers, the VCS and private sectors to deliver high-profile projects, with a strong focus on collaboration, governance and assurance.
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Safer Communities, you will have a pivotal role in shaping strategy, delivering frontline services, and best practices across some of the Council’s most ambitious and impactful programmes.

- You are an expert in motivating and inspiring teams to deliver outstanding services, which improve better outcomes for all Hounslow communities.
- You are proficient in using data and insight to continuously improve services and determine appropriate resource allocation to meet demand and need.
- You can develop and deliver high quality public documents including Cabinet Reports and strategies.
- You are experienced on leading on managing complex budgets, delivering Corporate and performance measures and successfully delivering on grant funded projects.
