The Role
In this role, you will report to the TCS UK Head of Corporate Affairs. The purpose is to strengthen and expand TCS government relations engagement and advocacy work across the UK.
Your responsibilities:
- Draft policy position papers to articulate the TCS point of view on key policy areas.
- Design and execute public affairs campaigns, enhancing TCS reputation and thought leadership with key audiences in the policymaking arena.
- Deepen and institutionalize TCS’ standing and relationships with policymakers in Westminster, and the regions. This will be achieved both through direct contact and relationship-building; as well as through TCS’ memberships in trade associations
- Monitor and analyze key policy issues, brief internal stakeholders, maintain key content collateral and support relevant internal Corporate Affairs forums and conversations. This includes liaising with the TCS government relations agency.
- Monitor and manage our memberships in trade bodies and relationships with thinktanks.
- Manage the Corporate Affairs intern.
Your Profile
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
- Experience in Government or Public Affairs role.
- Deep, demonstrable understanding of UK governmental operations is essential, an aptitude for India/Asia business culture is also a plus.
- Ability to lead and supervise support resources, staff or external agencies.
- Proactive mindset with a can-do attitude.
- Strong advocacy skills.
- Excellent communicator – oral and written.
- Positive attitude, leadership qualities, and flexible team-oriented approach to working with others.
- This role is London based, but you should expect some travel within the UK as part of the role.
