Position Overview
As Head of HR, you'll manage all aspects of the people function for the UK operation. You'll oversee end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and compliance with UK employment law. This is a pivotal role where you'll shape the company's culture and people practices as they grow, working closely with leadership and managers to support organisational development and ensure the business attracts and retains talented people.
Responsibilities
- Manage full recruitment lifecycle for UK roles, including job descriptions, advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, and offers
- Conduct Right to Work checks and ensure compliance with UK equality legislation throughout recruitment
- Coordinate onboarding and induction programmes for new hires
- Support annual appraisal processes and advise managers on performance improvement plans using ACAS guidelines
- Maintain records of objectives, reviews, training needs, and employee development
- Assist with communications for organisational changes and serve as first point of contact for employee queries
- Support managers in handling disciplinary and grievance procedures in line with UK Employment Law
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across all HR processes and practices
- Administer employee benefits including pensions, private health insurance, and life assurance
- Liaise with payroll providers to ensure accurate processing and monitor statutory leave entitlements
- Maintain HR records in compliance with UK GDPR and company retention policies
- Ensure HR policies remain current with UK employment legislation
- Prepare HR metrics reports for management review
Requirements
- CIPD Level 5 qualification or actively working towards it
- Proven experience in a generalist HR role within the UK
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law, HR compliance, and ACAS best practices
- Experience in recruitment, performance management, and benefits administration
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities independently
- Confidential and professional approach to sensitive matters
- Proactive, people-first problem-solving mindset
