We are pleased to be recruiting for an
Estates Officer following a recent promotion within the team. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive, values led organisation and play a key role in maintaining the quality and safety of our estates.
About The Role
As an Estates Officer, you will be a visible presence across our neighbourhoods, carrying out regular inspections of communal areas, amenity land and car parks. You will help ensure our estates remain safe, clean and compliant, working closely with colleagues, contractors and managing agents to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
You will investigate concerns raised by customers, identify areas that need improvement and support neighbourhood teams with issues such as anti social behaviour. You will also help maintain accurate compliance records and support our approach to building safety.
This is a mobile role that involves travel, problem solving and working with a wide range of people. You will be a key part of our Estates Services team and an important link between our customers and our wider Property and Customer directorates, due to this a full driving licence is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out cyclical inspections of communal areas, amenity land and car parks
- Monitor contracts and follow up on issues raised by customers or colleagues
- Test safety equipment in communal areas and inspect fire doors
- Carry out water testing in line with Legionella risk assessments
- Complete minor repairs and basic maintenance tasks
- Identify estates that need improvement and work with neighbourhood teams to resolve issues
- Liaise with internal teams, contractors and managing agents
- Maintain accurate records and report findings clearly
- Support compliance with building safety regulations and internal standards
What We’re Looking For
Must Haves
- Knowledge of building compliance and fire safety, or willingness to learn
- Understanding of legislation relevant to estate services
- Ability to carry out minor building repairs
- Basic physical fitness for a mobile role
- Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners
- Valid manual driving licence (van and fuel card provided for business use)
- Familiar and comfortable with basic DIY
Nice to haves:
- Experience in estate services or property compliance
- Familiarity with anti social behaviour reporting and resolution
